Sidney Crosby wore this red Team Canada jersey during the 2016 World Cup of Hockey. Crosby was named the MVP of this tournament, which was won by Team Canada after defeating Team Europe in two games in the best-of-three final series. Crosby wore this jersey during three games: on September 17th against the Czech Republic (2nd and 3rd periods only), September 21st against Team Europe, and September 27th, again against Team Europe. Crosby notched one goal and three assists while wearing this sweater. Crosby’s performance in this tournament helped to solidify his status as the best hockey player alive.
This red jersey features Team Canada’s logo, a maple leaf, sewn on the front of the jersey in white, red, and black tackle twill. A captain’s “C” is sewn on the left chest area of the jersey in white tackle twill. Crosby’s number “87”, also his number with the NHL’s Pittsburgh Penguins, is sewn on the back and sleeves in white mesh tackle twill. “CROSBY” is sewn across the back shoulders in white tackle twill oon a red nameplate. A white Adidas logo is sewn above Crosby’s name. A blue irregularly shaped “SAP” patch is sewn on the padded right shoulder and a “World Cup of Hockey 2016” patch is sewn on the left. “WCH” is applied to the collar. The underarm area is a red mesh fabric. Below the red mesh, on each side, are three white Adidas stripes. This jersey shows signs of moderate game use.
