New York Yankees second baseman wore this jersey on June 19, 2016, during a 7-4 road loss to the Minnesota Twins. Castro, the youngest player to lead the National League in hits, went hitless in this outing, but backed up his play with solid glove work. For the season, Castro hit a solid .270, with a career-high 21 home runs and 70 RBI.
This button down, gray road jersey features “New York” sewn across the front in light blue and navy tackle twill. As a jersey used on the Father’s Day weekend, the numbers and accents are a special shade of blue. A blue ribbon patch with the MLB logo is sewn on the left chest area. Castro’s number “14” is sewn on the back of the jersey in light blue and navy tackle twill. An “8” patch, in remembrance of Yogi Berra, is sewn on the left sleeve. The sleeve openings are ringed in anthracite bands. A blue MLB logo is attached to the back outside collar. A Majestic size “48” tag is applied to the front left tail of the jersey. This jersey shows good evidence of use, with a large dirt stain present on the right shoulder. Castro signed the “1” digit on the back in silver marker, adding his number “14” to his signature. This jersey comes with a COA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (B72250) for the signature, and a Steiner Sports LOA (243347). Additionally, a MLB Authenticated hologram (JB 023711) dates this jersey to use on the June 19th game.
