New York Yankees star Gleyber Torres wore this Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders jersey on June 8th, 2017. The RailRiders faced the Lehigh Valley IronPigs at Coca-Cola Stadium, where the visitors fell by a score of 3-2. Ambidextrous hurler Pat Venditte picked up the win for Lehigh Valley. Torres finished the game 1-4. The former Cubs farmhand joined the Yankees in 2018, becoming an instant success alongside Aaron Judge, Gary Sanchez, Miguel Andujar, and the rest of the young Yankees. Torres finished the 2018 season with 24 homers, 77 RBI, and a healthy .271 batting average. Torres made the American League All-Star team in his rookie season, a rare feat for any young ballplayer.
