Houston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve wore this orange Astros alternate road jersey during Game 4 of the 2017 American League Championship Series against the New York Yankees on October 17th. Altuve, hitting third in the Astros batting order, walked twice in this game, scoring on Yuli Gurriel’s bases-clearing double in the bottom of the sixth inning. Unfortunately for the Astros, bullpen issues wiped out Lance McCuller’s excellent start, and the Yankees won this game 6-4 to knot the series at two games apiece. While the Yankees claimed the next game in the Bronx, Houston’s pitching smothered the Yankees in the ‘Stros 7-1 win in Game 6 and their 4-0 Game 7 victory. Altuve would go on to win the American League MVP and his third batting title, while also leading the Astros to the World Series title in a classic seven games series against the Los Angeles Dodgers, earning the franchise’s first ever championship.

This button-down orange jersey has “ASTROS” and Altuve’s number “27” sewn on the chest in navy and white tackle twill. “ALTUVE” and a second “27” are sewn on the back of the jersey in navy and white tackle twill. On the upper left chest is a circular navy Houston “STRONG” patch bordered in orange with the Astros logo honoring the victims of Hurricane Harvey, which devasted the city of Houston in September of 2017 and became a rallying cry for the team and the city. A ChromaFlex MLB logo patch is sewn on the back outside collar, while a “2017 POSTSEASON” patch is sewn on the right sleeve. Navy piping accents the chest and sleeves of this FlexBase jersey. A Majestic size “40” tag is applied to the front left tail of this jersey, which displays solid game use with some dirt stains on the back.
