Boston Red Sox super prospect Rafael Devers wore this jersey during his time with the Portland Sea Dogs in 2017. Devers played 77 games with the Red Sox AA affiliate, hitting 18 home runs with 56 RBI and an even .300 batting average before a promotion to AAA Pawtucket. Devers played only nine AAA games before a surprising second promotion sent him straight to the Major Leagues. Devers immediately proved his mettle in the Big Leagues, cranking a home run for his first MLB hit. His debut season was punctuated by a cracking home run off of an almost 103 mile per hour Aroldis Chapman fastball to tie the game in the ninth inning. Devers appeared in 58 games his rookie season, bashing 10 home runs with 30 RBI and a .284 batting average as Red Sox fans fell instantly in love with their rookie sensation.
This gray, button down road jersey has “PORTLAND” sewn across the chest in red and navy blue tackle twill. Devers’ number “16” is sewn on the back of the jersey in red and navy blue tackle twill beneath a MiLB logo. A Red Sox logo patch is sewn on the left sleeve, and a red Russell Athletic logo is sewn on the right. Red piping accents the front of the jersey and the sleeves, and a Russell Athletic size “XL” tag is sewn on the front left tail of the jersey. This jersey comes with a LOA from the Portland Sea Dogs.
