Kansas City Royals catcher Salvador Perez wore this throwback Kansas City Monarchs helmet during the Royals 1-0 home loss to the Cleveland Indians on May 7th, 2017. Perez went 1-4 in this game, collecting his fifth double of the season against Cleveland starter Mike Clevinger in the fourth inning. Perez also contributed a highlight-worthy defensive play, gunning down Michael Brantley at first after a short bouncer down the third base line. Perez made his fifth consecutive All-Star team in 2017 while setting new career-highs in homers (27) and RBI (80).
This helmet is blue, with a red and white “KC” logo applied to the front. This size 7 ¾ helmet has a flap over the left ear and Perez’s number “13” written on the inside of the helmet in silver marker. Perez, a member of the Royals World Series-winning team in 2015, has signed the right side of the helmet in silver marker. This stunning Negro Leagues helmet comes with a MLB Authenticated hologram (JC 094870), which covers both the game use of the helmet and Perez’s signature.
