Former New York Yankees infielder Starlin Castro spent his last season in the Bronx in 2017, where he batted .300 with 16 home runs and 63 RBI as he and the Yankees reached the American League Championship Series, falling to the eventual World Series champion Houston Astros in seven games. Castro used this Marucci KB17.2 Custom Cut model bat during the 2017 season. This bat displays outstanding game use and has a crack on the lower barrel. There are ball marks, blue ink transfers and white leather scuff marks present on the barrel. The lower barrel/upper handle area has a heavy coating of pine tar and the lower handle has been taped in a spiral pattern to enhance the grip. Castro’s number “14” has been stamped in white on the knob end, along with the bat’s date of manufacture “02/16/17”. Castro has signed this bat in silver marker on the barrel and inscribed “14” and “GU2017”. This bat comes with a LOA from Starlin Castro authenticating that this bat was used by him in 2017, signed by him and that it has been in his personal collection.
