Stephen Strasburg has emerged as one of the National League’s best pitchers. Since the start of the 2015 season, Strasburg has pitched to a 41-15 record, a 3.14 ERA and averaged 181 strikeouts, all while leading the Washington Nationals to consecutive post season appearances in 2016 and 2017. Strasburg’s 2017 was statistically his best season with a dominant 15-4 record and sublime 2.52 ERA, which placed him third in Cy Young voting.
Offered here is a tremendous game used Washington Nationals alternate red jersey from Stephen Strasburg’s 2017 season. Confirmed by the game used experts Sports Investors Authentication from Nationals’ team sources, this jersey was worn by Strasburg for three games – April 9th 4-3 loss to Philadelphia, 7 IP, 3 ER, 8 K’s), May 21st (3-2 win over the Braves, 7.2 IP, 2 ER, 11 K’s) and August 19th (3-1 loss to San Diego, 6 IP, 2 ER, 8 K’s). All told that is 1-1 record with 21 innings pitched and 24 strikeouts.
This red size 52 button-down Majestic FlexBase Nationals jersey has the Washington “W” sewn on in white and navy tackle twill on the upper left chest. Strasburg’s number “37” is sewn on the upper right chest in the same white and navy tackle twill. Navy and white piping are linked together and run around the collar and down both sides of the buttons and along the sleeve ends. The left sleeve has the Nationals’ logo patch, which is above the Majestic logo that is embroidered in white, while the right sleeve has a vinyl “2017 POSTSEASON” patch. The back of the jersey has the vinyl MLB logo patch above the piping, with “STRASBURG” and his number “37” sewn on in white and navy tackle twill. The Majestic FlexBase size 52 tag is screen-printed on the bottom front left tail, while an additional Majestic tag is screen printed vertically on the inside right-center front tail and has “#37 2016 52 569” markings. This jersey comes full authenticated with a LOA from Sports Investors Authentication (170819A1), who have photo matched this jersey to the April 9th and August 19th games and additionally state that this jersey originated directly from the team.
