2018 saw all-pro defensive end JJ Watt return with a vengeance. After two injury-riddled seasons in 2016 and 2017 where he combined to play only eight games, Watt played in all 16 games in 2018 recording 16 sacks and 61 tackles as helped lead the Texans to the playoffs following an 11-5 record and first place finish in the NFC South. Watts earned All-Pro and Pro Bowl selections.

Offered here is an incredible multi-game used jersey by one of the best defensive players in the NFL. This JJ Watt Houston Texans home jersey has been photo matched to the January 5th AFC Wild Card game against the Indianapolis Colts. This Nike On Field jersey has Watts’ number “99” sewn on in white and red tackle twill on the front, back and shoulders. “TEXANS” is embroidered in white above the number on the front and below the red V-neck. The NFL shield logo patch is sewn at the base of the red V-neck. The tailored shortened shoulders have red stripes and the Nike logo is embroidered in white between the number and red stripe on both shoulders. In addition to the number of the back of the jersey, “WATT” is sewn on in white tackle twill on a matching navy nameplate.

Making this a special JJ Watt jersey is the upper right chest having the bronze Walter Payton Man of the Year patch. All current players who have received this prestigious award have it affixed to their jerseys and will continue to do so as long as they are playing. The patch is modeled after the original NFL Man of the Year trophy first given out in 1969 and renamed for Walter Payton following his death in 1999. Traditionally, the Walter Payton patch is worn on the upper left chest but starting with the December 6th game against the visiting Cleveland Browns, the Texans wore a “RCM” memorial patch on the upper left chest in memory of founding owner Robert McNair, who passed away on November 23rd, 2018. Watts’ Walter Payton Memorial Award Patch was moved to the right side of the jersey to accommodate the “RCM” patch.

This jersey displays heavy game use with team repairs and hit marks present. Adding to this already spectacular jersey is Watts has signed both sides. On the front, he signed his name in black marker on the right “9” and inscribed “#99” and “2018 SEASON 1st TEAM ALL-PRO”, while on the back he signed his name in black marker on the left “9” and inscribed “#99”. A wonderful opportunity to own a multi-game used jersey from JJ Watt with the prestigious Walter Payton Award patch, a first of its kind to hit the market. This jersey has been photo matched by Resolution Photomatching to the January 5th AFC Wild Card game and a corresponding LOA will accompany this jersey (426332), while photos from the three previous games against the Titans, Colts and Jaguars in which the Texans wore navy jerseys, show Watt wearing this jersey as well. This item also comes with a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (A56121) for the signatures and inscriptions.
