Offered in this lot is a batting helmet and a Victus GO27 model bat used by Arizona Diamondbacks infielder Ketel Marte during the 2018 MLB season. Marte had a breakout year for Arizona in 2018, slashing .260/.332/.437 with 14 homers, 59 RBI, and a National League-best 14 triples. The former Mariners prospect surpassed those numbers in 2019, making his first All-Star team while posting a batting average among the NL leaders.
The helmet in this lot is a maroon matte color, worn during the Diamondbacks game against the San Francisco Giants on August 2nd, 2018 at Chase Field. Although the Diamondbacks lost, Marte finished the game 2-3 with a walk, run, and a stolen base. This helmet has the Diamondbacks logo applied to the front and Marte’s number “4” applied to the back. It comes with an MLB Authenticated hologram (JD224600), dating the use of the helmet to the August 2nd game.
The bat in this lot is a black Victus Pro Reserve GO27 "Father's Day" model bat used when the Mets visited Chase Field on June 17th, 2018. The bat was taken out of play after Marte grounded out against Mets pitcher Jeurys Familia in the bottom of the eighth inning. Marte finished the game 1-4 with an RBI in the Diamondbacks 5-3 loss. This bat displays outstanding game use with a crack on the handle. A blue Lizard Skins bat grip, which was made especially for this game, is applied to the handle to enhance the grip. This bat comes with an MLB Authenticated hologram (JD278040) that dates the use of the lumber to the June 18th game.
