Teams have become hesitant in signing pitchers to big contracts, but the one Max Scherzer signed with the Washington Nationals prior to the start of the 2015 season is looking like a bargain. Following the 2019 season, Scherzer has combined for a 79-39 record with Washington pitching to a 2.74 ERA, has won the National League Cy Young Award in 2016 and 2017, and led the Nationals to their first ever World Series title in 2019.
Offered here is a multi-game Washington Nationals road gray Majestic Flex Base size 48 button-down jersey worn by Scherzer during the 2017 regular and post season. This jersey has been determined by the game experts at Sports Investors to have been worn by the Cy Young Award winner for six games in 2018 and photo matched to four of those games (April 25th, May 25th, July 12th and 27th). In those four games, Scherzer pitched 27 innings, striking out 30 batters and getting wins 5, 8, 12 and 14. Please note that Sports Investors has determined that Scherzer wore more than one jersey during the May 25th and July 27th games. This jersey has “Washington” and a paraph sewn on in red, navy and white tackle twill across the chest. Scherzer’s number “31” is sewn on the center left chest in the same red, navy and white tackle twill. Red/navy/red piping are around the collar and along the sleeve ends. The left sleeve has the Nationals’ logo patch, which is above the Majestic logo that is embroidered in navy, while the right sleeve has the vinyl “2018 ALL-STAR GAME” patch.
