This ball was pitched to Trout by Mike Minor to open their fifth inning battle, with Trout lining the sphere into left field for a single. Trout scored later in the inning on Albert Pujols’ two-run single. Trout finished the game, an 8-7 win for the home team, 1-4 with a walk and two runs scored. The “Millville Meteor” won his second American League MVP trophy in 2019 after posting a career-best 45 home runs with a .291 batting average, 104 RBI, and a MLB-best .438 OBP.
