The Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees are two of the storied franchises in all of baseball and in June of 2019, they made history by playing in the first regular season games across the Atlantic in London, England. The games were played at London Stadium, one of the sites of the 2012 Summer Olympics and later converted to a football (soccer) pitch for West Ham United and UK Athletics. Unlike the low-scoring soccer games in England, the Yankees and Red Sox put on an offensive show, with both teams combining for 50 runs in the two games – both won by the Yankees by scores of 17-13 and 12-8.

Presented here is the red alternate jersey worn by former Red Sox outfielder Mookie Betts during the June 30th game against the Yankees in London. This was the second game of the London Series and Betts went 1-for-4 in the game with a walk included. This size 42 Majestic Flex Base button-down jersey has “RED SOX” sewn on across the chest in Tuscan font navy and white tackle twill. The Majestic tag is screen-printed on the front left tail and an additional Majestic bar code tag that reads “#50 BETTS 2019 42T” is screen-printed on the center front tail. The back has Betts’ number “50” sewn on in McAuliffe-style navy and white tackle twill with the MLB logo patch sewn on the upper back neck. The left sleeve has a green “BIOFREEZE” advertisement patch, while the right sleeve has the “MLB LONDON SERIES 19” patch. This jersey displays light use and comes with an MLB Authenticated hologram (JD669471) and a COA from Fanatics (AA0054385), both authenticating that Betts wore this jersey on June 30, 2019 during the London Series.
