Shohei Ohtani entered the Major Leagues as the 21st century version of Babe Ruth, putting up numbers that garnered him American League Rookie of the Year honors. An overpowering pitcher, great hitter, and incendiary base runner, Ohtani’s American debut made the 2018 season something special. Ohtani finished 2018 with a .285 batting average, 22 homers and 61 RBI in only 326 at bats while his pitching line was 4-2 with a 3.31 ERA and 63 strikeouts in 51.2 innings.

Ohtani has picked up in 2019 right where he left off in 2018 as he continues produce solid power numbers while maintaining a good batting average. Using this offered Asics Goldstage Tamo bat Ohtani connected for his second home run of the 2019 season during the May 18th game against the Kansas City Royals at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. Ohtani took Royals’ pitcher Jakob Junis deep down the right field line for a two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning. It was Ohtani’s 24th career home run. This bat has been photo matched to this home run

Ohtani used this bat for the last time during the May 21st, 2019 game just three days later. Facing Minnesota Twins righty Michael Pineda, Ohtani hit a line drive single to right field that cracked this bat on the handle. This bat displays outstanding game use with the aforementioned crack in the handle which has been professionally repaired. There are ball marks, blue ink transfers and white leather scuffs present on the barrel. The bat has a cupped end and “OS17” and “010819” has been stamped on the knob. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B17200) for the game use, who have photo matched this bat to the May 18th home run and has graded this bat a near-perfect GU 9.5. Additionally, there is an MLB Authenticated hologram (JC128667), authenticating this bat was used and broken during the May 21st, 2019 game.
