Presented is an original, mixed media painting on an 18x24-inch stretched canvas, depicting National Hockey League great Wayne Gretzky “taking a bow.” The multi-colored painting in a “pointillist” style portrays Gretzky from the back in a blue Edmonton Oilers uniform, blue helmeted head bowed in front of a crowd of cheering fans.

The painting, by artist Greg Gutierrez, is inscribed on the back of the canvas in black marker “’Gretzky Takes A Bow’ Gutierrez 2019”. Gretzky played 20 seasons in the NHL for four teams from 1979 to 1999. As center and team captain, Gretzky led the Oilers to four Stanley Cup victories (in the 1983–84, 1984–85, 1986–87, and 1987–88 seasons). He is the all-time leading scorer in NHL history, with more goals and assists than any other player. He garnered more assists than any other player scored total points and is the only NHL player to total over 200 points in one season – a feat he accomplished four times. In addition, Gretzky tallied over 100 points in 16 professional seasons, 14 of them consecutive. At the time of his retirement in 1999 and through 2017, he holds 61 NHL records: 40 regular season records, 15 playoff records, and six All-Star records. Gretzky was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1999.
