Three-time Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer wore this Washington Nationals road jersey during his first two wins of the 2020 Covid-shortened 2020 Major League Baseball season against the New York Mets on August 11, and against the Baltimore Orioles on August 16, 2020. The seven-time All-Star pitched six solid innings during the Nationals 2-1 win over the Mets at Citi Field, allowing 1 run, 6 hits, and recorded 7 strikeouts. Scherzer had to throw 60 pitches in the first two innings alone, throwing a total of 105 over six innings while pitching with a strained hamstring that forced Scherzer to audibly groan while throwing a fastball. The four-time MLB wins leader and three-time National League strikeout leader would pick up his second win on August 16, 2020 against the Orioles in a nail-biting 6-5 victory over Baltimore. Scherzer would pitch seven innings with 10 strikeouts during the victory over the Orioles at Camden Yards.
