Presented here is the very ASICS OS-17 model bat used by Los Angeles Angels phenom pitcher and hitter Shohei Ohtani during the September 19th, 2020 game in which he hit his 46th career home run. Ohtani was the designated hitter in the Angels’ lineup and finished the game going 2-for-3 with his 6th home run of the season in the Angels 4-3 victory over the Texas Rangers in Anaheim. The 2018 American League Rookie of the Year played 44 games during the shortened season and recorded 29 hits, scored 23 runs, knocked out seven home runs, and drove in 24 RBI.
This bat displays outstanding game use and has a crack on the handle. Ohtani’s home run came in the bottom of the second inning off Rangers’ pitcher Lance Lynn and the game used experts at PSA/DNA have matched this bat to the September 19th, 2020 game. There are numerous ball marks, stitch impressions, blue ink transfers and white leather scuffs present on the barrel. The knob has the bat’s model number “OS 17”, along with “E – S” and the manufactured date “111119” stamped. There is a mark on the handle that identifies the grain, which has been mandatory per Major League Baseball for all maple bats since 2009. A wonderful gamer from one of baseball’s brightest stars and this bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B25237) for the game use and has given this bat a very high grade of GU 9.5.
