Famed gangster Al "Scarface" Capone was reviled by law enforcement and hailed by the people as a "modern-day Robin Hood" for his activities with bootlegging and organized crime. Capone first joined a gang in New York City before moving to Chicago to help Johnny Torrio run his bootlegging syndicate that provided booze to a public thirsty for intoxication during the Prohibition Era. Famous for running the "Chicago Outfit," Capone's cozy relationship with judges and local law enforcement kept the gangster flowing in both cash and booze. Still, his goodwill would come to an end with the St. Valentine's Day Massacre that damaged his goodwill with the public and eroded his relationship with law enforcement. Capone was eventually arrested for tax evasion and sentenced to 11 years in prison, ultimately serving eight years before being released. Capone would ultimately die from neurosyphilis at the age of 48, his legacy as America's premiere gangster solidified in popular culture.

Offered here is an interest note twice signed by Al Capone. The interest note is dated "November 18th, 1924" and is made out for "$45.00." The interest note features cancelation punch holes typical of an interest note and is signed twice in black ink by Capone. The signed interest note comes encapsulated and authenticated by PSA/DNA (AD09989), who gave the signature the grade of AUTHENTIC AUTO.
