Behind the dominant pitching performances of World Series co-MVPs Randy Johnson and Curt Shilling, the 2001 Arizona Diamondbacks proved that a pair of aces sometimes beats a full-house. Turning the New York Yankees around in a dramatic seven-game Series, Luis Gonzalez ended the game with a walk-off, bloop single thrown by all-time saves leader Mariano Rivera. This stunning, 10K gold diamond-studded, size 11 ½ ring weighs approximately 50 grams and evokes memories of major league baseball’s early foray into the desert.

The Diamondbacks distinct A logo resembling rattlesnake skin outlined in one of the team’s original purple cap and uniform color. It is raised over a bed of diamonds, surrounded by “World Champions 2001” lettering and four golden baseballs. One shank has name “Tulumello,” (writer Mike Tulumello used to cover the team for the East Valley Tribune) and another full Diamondbacks logo over an American flag and state flag of Arizona. On the opposite shank, a snake in the form of the Diamondbacks letter D logo and the Yankees interlocking NY are above the numbers 4 and 3, signifying the Series game score. This is superimposed over the Diamondbacks Bank One Ballpark and the words “Fastest Ever” in reference to the four-year franchise’s Series victory and an MLB logo. Interior band contains a “9-11-01 Never Forget,” engraving in reference to the 9-11 terrorist attacks that took place just a month before the Series. Ring is contained in decorative 2” x 3” cherry wood box.
