Offered here is a program from the 1943 World Series played between the New York Yankees and the St. Louis Cardinals that features various military servicemen on the front cover. This program has been signed by 12 players including none other than Babe Ruth. Ruth signed his name in bold black pen on the upper left side. Other signatures include William Harridge, Red Rolfe, Charlie Keller, George Case, Hans Lobert and six others. Inside the program are black and white photographs of players from both teams as well as short player biographies. The scorecards on the inside have not been filled out. Due to WWII both teams had a depleted lineup but the series was a welcome break for fans of the game from the horrors of war. The Yankees would go on to defeat the Cardinals 4 games to 1 to win the 1943 World Series. This item comes with a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (A56086).
