Presented here is a 33 x 26-inch display containing a typed letter from President Barack Obama to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. This letter, dated to June 29th, 2011, acknowledges a gift made by Abdul-Jabbar, and features an autopen signature from President Obama. Also included in this lot is an envelope, addressed to Abdul-Jabbar and his manager Deborah Morales from the White House, an invitation and two tickets to a reception in honor of Ford’s Theatre at the White House, and a placard from the White House social secretary. Additionally, a photograph of Abdul-Jabbar, Amir Abdul-Jabbar, Ms. Morales, Michelle Obama, and Barack Obama is included next to a picture of Abdul-Jabbar with Mr. and Mrs. Obama. This item derives directly from Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and a personally hand-signed LOA from Kareem will accompany this item.
