Presented here is a photograph signed by one of the NBA’s 50 Greatest Players of All Time, Bill Russell. The 11-time NBA champion is singlehandedly responsible for revolutionizing the center position in the 1950s and 1960s. The lanky Russell could run the floor like a guard and defend even Wilt Chamberlain. At the end of his career, Russell was named the player-coach of the Celtics, becoming the first African-American coach in NBA history. As a student at McClymonds High School in Oakland, CA, Russell was teammates with Frank Robinson, the first African-American manager in MLB history. Russell was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame in 1975.
This picture shows Russell rising up for a hook shot in his green Celtics uniform against a abstract background. Russell signed this photograph in silver marker. He added the inscriptions “12X ALL STAR”, “11X CHAMP”, and “5X MVP”. This photograph is a limited edition 4 of 6 and comes in a 28 x 24 inch frame. This item comes with a Fanatics authenticated hologram (0420838).
