NBA legend Bill Russell has signed this Spalding basketball. Russell, who is responsible for more revolution in basketball defense than Dr. James Naismith, won 11 NBA championships in his 13 year career with the Boston Celtics. Near the end of his playing career, Russell was named the player-coach of the Celtics, becoming the first African-American head coach in NBA history. The Hall of Famer signed this basketball in black Sharpie, on the panel above the “SPALDING” logo. He added the inscription “669/1000”, indicating the ball’s limited edition status. Russell’s signature comes with a COA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (B53054)
