Derek Jeter’s career in nearly every single way is more like a story book that could only have been scripted to perfection. Playing 20 seasons for the New York Yankees, he played in only one game where is team was mathematically eliminated from postseason contention. He has the highest career on base percentage of any shortstop since World War II and only Barry Larkin is even close. During one stretch of 100 games, he hit safely in 92 of them, something only Ichiro Suzuki has matched, and only Wee Willie Keeler has bested with 93. During his story-book career however he only recorded 5 RBI’s in a game on a few occasions, with the final occurrence being on Sept 4, 2011.
This base was used during innings 1-5 as third base during the contest in 2011 when Derek Jeter accumulated 5 RBI’s for the final time in his career. The base was also on the field when Jeter went deep for a three-run home run in the third inning, shows evidence of game use and features the New York Yankees Pinstripe and Navy-Blue logo’s on both sides. The base is accompanied by MLB Authenticated hologram (FJ63124) as well as a Yankee/Steiner Game Used hologram (180558) and letter of authenticity.
