Bob Feller and Joe DiMaggio were two of the biggest draws in baseball during the 1930s and 1940s. Feller, the lanky kid from Van Meter, Iowa, had a heater that burned holes through the barrel of bats. DiMaggio was the lithe centerfielder from New York who seemingly never made an out. To commemorate their intra league rivalry, Feller signed this baseball with the inscription “I struck out Joe DiMaggio.” Unfortunately for the Hall of Fame pitcher, DiMaggio did not strike out frequently in their matchups, as “Joltin’ Joe” carried a career .344 batting average against “Rapid Robert”. Feller, who gave up a hit against DiMaggio in the 27th game of his magical hitting streak, also surrendered seven home runs to DiMaggio. In addition to his inscription, Feller signed the sweet spot of this Allan H. Selig Official Major League baseball in blue pen. This item comes with a COA from Steiner Sports.
