The 19-year-old Bryce Harper capped off his Rookie of the Year season by helping lead the Washington Nationals to their first playoff berth in franchise history. In the deciding Game 5 of the NLDS against the St. Louis Cardinals, Harper put the Nationals out front with a solo home run in the 5th inning, his first ever post season shot. This is the jersey he wore that night. The classy Nationals “W” script logo sits opposite Harper’s “34”, both in red and navy tackle twill. The front of the button down, home white jersey carries the Majestic Cool Base tagging with an added white label that reads “SIZE 48”. The right sleeve has the special Washington Nationals logo patch. Inside the collar has white strip tag which reads, “34 48 ‘12 738”. On the back “HARPER” is in red on navy blue tackle twill above his number “34”. MLB hologram sticker number EK 315246 is affixed to the bottom of the “4” and attests to Harper having worn this very jersey in Games 3, 4 and 5. Various evidence of game use can be seen throughout including a large turf mark over Harper’s “34” on the front and extending below to the tail. A great part of playoff history from one of the game’s most exciting young players.
