The Homestead Grays were one of the great dynasties of the Negro Leagues, winning nine consecutive Negro National League championships. The Grays employed a host of all-time great players, including Josh Gibson, Oscar Charleston, Judy Johnson, Smokey Joe Williams, Buck Leonard, James “Cool Papa” Bell, Martin Dihigo, and more. Two of those players, Buck Leonard and Cool Papa Bell, have signed this replica Homestead Grays jersey.
This jersey has “GRAYS” sewn across the front in black felt. A “W” patch is sewn on the left sleeve in black felt, below a crest decorated with an American flag pattern. A number “3” is sewn on the back in black felt. Leonard and Bell signed the left chest of this full button down, pinstriped jersey. Both signed their names in fine-tipped black marker. Bell signed his name as “James ‘Cool Papa’ Bell”. This jersey comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (AC03345).
