On September 20, 1998, Cal Ripken, Jr. likely got more use out of his turf shoes than he had ever before – see, this was the day Cal ended his consecutive game streak and sat out his first game since May 1982. The orange, black and white Nike Air turf shoes show moderate use. There are some turf marks on the soles and some scuffing to the black surfaces. The shoes have been marked with a team issued label with “001.001.009a.b. Nike air tennis shoe Sept 20, 1998.” Cal has signed the left front toe in silver marker. These shoes come with a LOA from Cal Ripken, Jr. for the game use and signature and a certificate from Beckett stating they witnessed Cal Ripken, Jr. signing this item.
