After devoting three years to military service during World War II, Carl Furillo joined “dem Bums” in the 1946 campaign to begin a 15-year All-Star career. A consistent hitter and solid defensive outfielder, Furillo hit above .300 five times, leading the NL in 1953 with a .344 batting average. As the Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers’ right fielder, Furillo annually ranked in the top five for putouts, assists, and fewest errors. No surprise then, that he and his Dodgers teams advanced to seven World Series, winning twice (1955 and 1959). He retired after the 1960 season, having clouted 192 HR, plated 1058 RBI, and fashioned a .299 BA. Furillo signed his name across the sweet spot of this Official National League A. Bartlett Giamatti baseball in bold blue pen. The ball is in good condition, displaying only slight toning and very light staining on a blank panel. This signed baseball comes with a COA from Finest Sports Collectibles (026609).
