Comedic actor Dan Aykroyd, famous for his roles in “Ghostbusters,” “The Blues Brothers” and “Grosse Point Blank,” celebrated his 50th birthday in style, ringing in his 50th year with a birthday party at the June 2002 grand opening of the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Connecticut. This presented New York Pro electric guitar measuring 38 ¼ x 13-inch wide guitar was signed by Aykroyd and 20 of his friends who attended his birthday party. A fantastic artifact of contemporary American culture, this guitar was signed by an eclectic mix of entertainment icons and includes signatures from Aykroyd, Chevy Chase, Bill Murray, John Cusack, Steven Tyler, Roseann Barr, Jim Belushi, Wilson Pickett, Sam Moore, Steve Cropper, Paul Schaffer, Brad Paisley, Jeff “Skunk” Baxter, Donald Duck Dunn, Ice-T, X-Ray, Blue Moon Marion, Catfish Hodge, Michael Burkes, General Les Lyles, and Donna Dixon. The bold signatures were signed across the body of the guitar with a black Sharpie. A protective film covers the body of the guitar and protects the integrity of the signatures.
