Offered is a limited edition, signed print of a “Peanuts” cartoon illustration by famed cartoonist Charles Schulz. The cartoonist has signed his name in gray graphite pencil in the lower left corner of the illustration, which features his characters Linus and Snoopy. They are pictured sitting on a park bench, with Snoopy wearing a black hat and carrying a black briefcase. The word balloon coming from Linus reads “The lawyer is evermore the leader in society,” while the thought balloon coming from Snoopy reads “I like it...I don’t understand it, but I like it..”. The illustration is inscribed “401/1500” in gray graphite pencil in the lower left corner.  The 14 x 17½-inch watercolor and black pen print is mounted in a white paper matte within a 21 x 25-inch brown wood frame and glass.

At its height, “Peanuts” was published daily in 2,600 papers in 75 countries, in 21 languages. Over the nearly 50 years that “Peanuts” was published Schulz drew nearly 18,000 strips. The characters from “Peanuts,” especially Charlie Brown and Snoopy, appeared in many animated TV shows and movies, a Broadway musical and merchandise personally supervised by Schultz up to his death in 2000.
