Michael Jordan led the Chicago Bulls to their fifth NBA title in 1996-97, defeating the Utah Jazz in a six-game NBA Finals. Game 5 of the Finals, known as Jordan’s “Flu Game”, was one of the most thrilling contests in NBA history, with a visibly shaken, dehydrated, and ill Jordan finding some unearthly way to score 38 points, including the game-clinching three-pointer with 25 seconds left, to give Chicago a three-games-to-two series lead heading back to Chicago’s United Center. Jordan was the unquestioned NBA Finals Most Valuable Player after posting averages of 32.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 6.0 assists per game for Phil Jackson’s Bulls.

Offered in this lot is a signed seat cover from the 1996-97 NBA Finals signed by nine members of the Bulls, including Jordan. The signatures on this black seat cover include Jordan and his fellow Hall of Famers Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman, and Robert Parrish, with other signatures including Randy Brown, Bill Cartwright, Ron Harper, Bill Wennington, and Toni Kukoc. Harper, Parrish, Kukoc, and Brown all inscribed their numbers under their signatures, while Cartwright inscribed “Ast Coach” and Wennington inscribed “34 Rules”. The signatures have been written in silver marker. This historic item comes with an Upper Deck hologram (UAS05996), a LOA from Beckett Authentication Services, and photographic proof.
