Offered here is a tintype photograph from the 1880s featuring an umpire. The image shows the subject holding a mask in his right hand wearing a bright white cap, dressed in jacket, vest and bowtie. The photo appears to have been taken in a studio with an outdoor backdrop and his encased in what is likely its original brass casing. The photo is a tremendous image given its age and the brass casing is also set in a hinged Union case that measures approximately 3 ¼ x 4 inches. The is item is in overall good condition with wear on the binding on the hinged case.
