Legendary actor and dancer Buddy Ebsen wore these baseball cleats circa 1928. Ebsen made his Broadway debut in 1928 in the play Whoopee!, starring Eddie Cantor. At the time, the cast and crew of Broadway plays often created baseball teams to play against other ballclubs made of thespians. Ebsen played on the Whoopee! team, where he wore these cleats. Six metal cleats are affixed to the sole of each shoe. These cleats remain in fine condition given their venerable age and origin.
