If it is one thing Babe Ruth enjoyed more than anything, except hitting home runs and eating hot dogs, was spending quality time with children. As an orphan who spent his formative years in an All Boys school, Ruth endeared himself to young children as often as he could. Nowhere is this more evident in this offered black and white photograph circa 1934 of Babe Ruth in his road New York Yankees uniform holding a toddler. Both are smiling into the camera with the young boy resting on Ruth’s left arm and Ruth’s hands folded together. The lower right corner of this 8 x 10-inch photo has “THORNE 1934” printed in black. On the back is printed “THORNE PHOTO OFFICIAL PHOTOGRAPHER FOR TEAM_____ PLAYER _____ POSITION _____”. This photograph comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1P11856) which has authenticated this photo as a Type I.
