Offered is a classic regional beer advertisement featuring former New York Yankees pitcher Frank “Spec” Shea pitching Hull’s Famous Beer, “The Old Favorite of Sporting Fans.” Hull played for the New York Yankees from 1947–1951 and the Washington Senators from 1952–1955. He was known as "The Naugatuck Nugget" as a result of him being from Naugatuck, Connecticut, and was named as such by Yankees broadcaster Mel Allen, and was nicknamed "Spec" because of his freckles.

The 10 x 14-inch promotional poster has a yellow background, with reversed-out white lettering on a blue banner reading “Connecticut Favorites.” A black & white head & shoulder photograph of Shea in a baseball cap and uniform shirt is below the banner, with a caption “Baseball’s Rookie Pitcher of the Year” beneath a reproduction of Shea’s signature.  A line drawing in white, black, and royal blue of a beer glass and a bottle of Hull’s Beer is in the lower left corner of the advertisement. The poster is displayed in a 10 x 14-inch blue metal and glass frame.
