Spring 2019 Premium Auction Closing May 11

Offered here is a Jackie Robinson circa 1947 Brooklyn Dodgers pennant. Robinson broke baseball’s color line on April 15th, 1947, winning the inaugural Rookie of the Year award in his first season playing Major League Baseball. Robinson went on to win the 1949 National League MVP award and lead the Dodgers to their only World Series title in Brooklyn, in 1955. Robinson retired after homering in his final career game, on September 30th, 1956, rather than accept a trade away from his beloved Dodgers. In 1962, Robinson was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in his first appearance on the ballot. This pennant is green and printed with “Brooklyn Dodgers” in white lettering. An image of Robinson is printed on the pennant as well. The wide end of the pennant is white, and it measures 28.5 x 11.5 inches at its widest dimensions. This pennant is in good condition and is a thrilling display piece from the most important player in baseball history.
Please note that this lot has a 25% Buyer’s Premium (28% if payment is made using a credit card and/or is not paid within 10 days of invoice). Goldin Auctions will be donating 10% of the winning bid price to The Jackie Robinson Foundation.
