During baseball’s Golden Era, major and minor league teams often provided their players with several different professional model bats with which to use in both games and practice. These bats were often the same signature models used by the greats in the game, and this pro stock bat is no different as it is Ted Williams’ W166 model Louisville Slugger. The Hillerich & Bradsby W166 shows heavy use with a cracked handle that has been repaired. The barrel shows heavy use with many ball marks and impressions visible along with slight checking from repeated ball contact. There are cleat imprints on the barrel and the model number “W166” is stamped into the knob. A great example of an early to mid-1950’s Williams professional model bat. The bat comes with a LOA from MEARS (315545), grading it an A5 and a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B12324) for the game use.
