This offered Cleveland Indians cap was worn by former pitcher Mel Harder when served as one of the coaches during the 1954 season. Later, this cap would also be worn by Joe Sewell in his capacity as Indians’ scout. This all navy cap features the Indians’ wishbone “C” logo with “Chief Wahoo” in the middle embroidered on the front in red, white and navy. This cap was manufactured by Wilson and is a size 7 ¼. “Harder” is embroidered in blue on the inner sweat band and Sewell is handwritten in black marker on the inner crown. Please note that the handwritten Sewell displays some bleeding. The underside of the brim is green and this six-panel hat with a red button on the top displays heavy game use. This cap comes with a letter of provenance from James Sewell.
