His on-field feats are legendary, and over his 18-year career with the Pittsburgh Pirates, he was a 15-time All-Star, a 12-time Gold Glove Award winner, the 1966 National League MVP, a four-time batting champion and a Hall of Famer. Clemente was so revered that when he perished in the plane crash before the 1973 season, the Hall of Fame waived their 5-year rule and immediately enshrined Clemente.

Offered here is an all-black Rawlings cap used by the great Roberto Clemente the 1955-1964 seasons. This wool cap displays heavy game use and has the Pirates “P” embroidered on the front in yellow. The underside of the brim is green and the inner lining is a brown plastic that displays heavy wear and chipping. The red Rawlings tag is sewn on the inside back on the lining and Clemente’s number “21” is handwritten in red marker on the inside front crown. A wonderful game used Clemente cap with numerous dirt stains, sweat stains and other markings consistent with multi-season use. This cap comes with a LOA from MEARS for the game use.
