At the age of 40, Lou Brock spent 1979 putting the icing on his Hall of Fame career – by becoming a member of the exclusive 3,000 Career Hit Club. Brock remained a dangerous hitter right up until the day he retired, posting a .304 average that last year finishing his career with a .293 average and a then Major League record 938 stolen bases.

Brock wore this all-red St. Louis Cardinals batting helmet circa 1979. The classic interlocking “StL” logo is painted on the front in white and blue, while Brock’s number “20” is painted in white on the top brim. The top of the shell has two air holes and the inside of the helmet is blue and on the top circle pad is still intact. The blue paint on the interior shows numerous scratches. This helmet comes with a LOA from MEARS (315243) for the game use.
