The prolific quarterback and 1988 NFL MVP Boomer Esiason wore this black Cincinnati Bengals home jersey circa 1985. The 38th pick of the 1984 Draft, Esiason was entrenched as the Bengals starting quarterback by Week 3 of the 1985 season, beating out Ken Anderson and Turk Schonert for the coveted QB1 job. Esiason threw for 3,443 yards and 28 touchdowns in his first season as the Bengals signal-caller. Esiason’s best season with the Bengals came in 1988, as the former Maryland star led Cincinnati to a 12-4 record and an appearance in Super Bowl XXIII.
This offered Bengals home jersey is black, with Cincinnati’s familiar tiger stripes on the shoulders. Esiason’s number “7” is screen-printed on the chest, back, and shoulders in white and orange numerals. “ESIASON” is printed across the back shoulders in white text over a matching black nameplate. A Russell Athletic size “42” tag and a Koch tag are sewn on the front left tail. This jersey comes with a LOA from PM&G.
