< p class=" MsoNormal" style=" text-indent: .5in;"> Presented here is a pair of white leather and plastic Franklin batting gloves worn by former New York Yankee “Donnie Baseball” Mattingly during the 1988 season and signed by the Yankees legend. Mattingly batted a cool .311 with 186 hits, 94 runs scored, 18 home runs, and 88 RBI during a season that saw the vaunted left-handed first baseman earn his fifth All-Star selection and his fourth Golden Glove Award. The presented gloves are constructed of white leather and plastic and feature “FRANKLIN” labeled in black on hard plastic attached to the backhand. Mattingly signed the Velcro wrist strap on each glove with a blue marker. The signatures feature elements of bleeding, and the gloves display excellent game use containing stains on the palms and inside and outside fingers. The batting gloves signed by Don Mattingly and worn by the Yankee legend during the 1988 season come with an LOA from J.T. Sports (1434) for the game use and an LOA from JSA for the signatures.
