In 1999 Ivan “Pudge” Rodriguez left any doubts whether or not he was the AL’s best backstop when he smashed 35 home runs and set the new league record for single season homers by a catcher. Rodriguez’s bat and leadership behind the plate that year earned him the AL’s highest honor – the MVP Award. The bat shows moderate use with some ball marks visible on the barrel. The impression from a weighted batting donut can be seen and the Rangers star has signed the barrel in black marker.
