This lot is part of the Jackie Robinson 71st Anniversary Auction to benefit the Jackie Robinson Foundation

Former New York Yankees slugger Robinson Cano won the 2011 All-Star home run derby with a remarkable 12 homers in the final round. The rest of the season saw Cano hitting .302 with 28 homers as the Yankees cruised to another post-season berth. The 2011 season saw Cano reach his second of what would be five straight all-star appearances and was the recipient of the Silver Slugger Award.

Cano used this SSK AA RC24 model bat during the 2011 season that saw him finish with 118 RBI. This bat is 34 inches long, weighs 31.9 ounces and shows heavy game use. There is a small crack in the middle of the handle. The handle has also been taped in a criss-cross pattern approximately five inches from the knob to enhance the grip and a moderate coat of pine tar is on the upper handle and lower barrel. There are several ball marks, white leather scuffs and checking or grain swelling from repeated ball contact on the barrel. Other markings on the barrel include blue ink transfers and cleat imprints and the barrel itself has a cupped end. This bat comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA (1B15348) and has been graded a near-perfect GU 9. Please note that this lot has a 25% Buyer’s Premium. Goldin Auctions will be donating 10% of the winning bid price to The Jackie Robinson Foundation.
