Former long-time Boston Red Sox owner Tom Yawkey was one of those rare owners who step on the field to take batting practice and be on-field with the players. While on the field, Yawkey would dress in full uniform and these offered game pants were worn by the mercurial owner during his tenure as Red Sox owner. These pants, circa 1940's-1950's, were manufactured by Tim McAuliffe Inc. of Boston, Massachusetts and are made of gray flannel. The pants exhibit moderate use with some light dirt staining on both the front and back. The inner waist band has the McAuliffe tag, along with a “44” tag and a gray patch that has embroidered “Tom Yawkey”. A great relic from the long-time owner of the Boston Red Sox.
