Presented is a Clayton Kershaw signature on a limited-edition printer’s proof of an original Stephen Holland portrait of the Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher. Kershaw has signed his name in silver paint pen at the right center of the print, and inscribed “22” below his signature. The artist has signed his name in silver pen at the lower left side of the painting, and inscribed “PP1/10” below his signature. The 2014 giclee on canvas was produced in 22 numbered, 22 artists proofs, 10 printers’ proofs, 10 HC and 22 Kershaw Proofs, and is 21½ x 42-inch stretched on wood. The color portrait captures Kershaw as he is throwing a pitch in his white Dodgers uniform, with a background that includes the black & white image of Dodgers Stadium, along with a silk screened image of his left arm in red and black, as well as his name in black stencil on gray, his uniform number (22) in green, and the word “Dodgers” in both red and royal blue. The left-handed pitcher has played 12 seasons with the Dodgers since he made his Major League Baseball debut in 2008. He is an eight-time All-Star, three-time National League Cy Young Award winner, and the 2014 NL Most Valuable Player. Holland was the official artist of the Dodgers 50th Anniversary season in 2008 and is widely regarded as the leading sports artist for his incredible portraits of some of the world's greatest athletes including Sandy Koufax, Muhammad Ali, Wayne Gretzky, Roberto Clemente and Tiger Woods.
