Working behind the scenes major league baseball scouts are often the un-sung heroes of the game with their work mostly recognized by general managers and executive brass. This big piece of big league hardware was presented to Cleveland Indians scout Craig Wallenbrock for his part in molding the 1995 American League champion team. The 1995 all Native American World Series pitted the Cleveland Indians against the NL champion Atlanta Braves who took the Series four games to two.
The Indians posted a very impressive 100-44 record in the strike-delayed 1995 season with a powerful batting order that included Albert Belle (50 HR, 126 RBI, .317) Manny Ramirez (31 HR, 107 RBI, .308) Carlos Baerga (15 HR, 90 RBI, .314) and Jim Thome (25 HR, 73 RBI, .314), who all came up through the Indians minor league system.
This hefty size 11.5, 45.3 gram 10K gold Jostens ring has “Cleveland Al Champs” in raised lettering along the perimeter with a pair of embedded Chief Wahoo logos to the right and left of the word Cleveland on top with a cursive Indians logo raised in gold above a chunky cluster of diamonds of varying sizes.
Wallenbrock's name is engraved above an American League flying eagle and baseball logo on one shank, and the year “1995” in a banner above a cursive Indians logo with “World Series Jacobs Field” and the team’s “100-44” regular season record is on the opposite side with “j © 10K” engraved on interior band. This ring is in impressive condition and comes in a red “Indians” ring box with LOA dated Dec. 3, 1999 signed by Wallenbrock.
