Presented is a collection of Mickey Mantle signed items and other baseball items that were owned by the Hall of Famer’s brother, Roy Mantle. The first item in this collection is a boxed set of nine VHS videocassettes of “Baseball A Film by Ken Burns.” The 1994 PBS documentary film comes in an illustrated slipcase, with “Inning 7”, titled “The Capital of Baseball,” featuring a photo of Mickey Mantle on the front cover. The second item in this collection is a 3½ x 4½ x 6-inch color tin box with lid housing the Mickey Mantle Baseball Heroes Metallic Impressions Collector Cards from Upper Deck, issued in 1995. The box has eight metal baseball cards capturing moments in Mantle’s career. The 2½ x 3½-inch cards are housed in a black plastic holder inside the tin, with a COA from Upper Deck. The third and fourth items in this collection are two copies of a boxed 30-card set celebrating the former New York Yankees outfielder’s life and career, issued by Pinnacle by Score in 1992. The 1 x 3 x 4-inch color boxes are in their original shrink wrap. The fifth item in this collection is a 1982 card from “The Mickey Mantle Story” collection issued by Authentic Sports Autographs in 1982, depicting Mantle posed with his brothers Roy and Ray. The sixth item in this collection is a 1984 Mickey Mantle card featuring an illustrated collage of the former Yankees star, issued by Sports Design Products. The seventh item in this collection is a VHS videocassette, “Greatest Sports Legends – Mickey Mantle,” issued in 1985 by Sports Legends Video, Inc. The 30-minute documentary is hosted by football legend Paul Hornung. The eighth item in this collection is “The First Ever Full Motion Baseball Card from Eastman Kodak – commemorating Mickey Mantle’s unforgettable 500th Home Run!” The 5 ½ x 8 ½-inch color folder is in its original shrink wrap and holds a 3 x 5-inch color 3D card depicting “The Mick” hitting homer #500. This item comes with a LOA from Centennial Sports. The ninth item in this collection is a Mickey Mantle signature and inscription on a 4 x 6-inch “Mickey at Night” baseball card. Mantle has signed his name in blue marker and inscribed “To T.J.” above his signature. This item has been encapsulated and authenticated by PSA/DNA (84170469) and is graded MINT 9.

The 10th item in this collection is a Mickey Mantle signature in blue marker on a 4 x 6-inch “Mickey at Night” baseball card. This item has been encapsulated and authenticated by PSA/DNA (84166775) and is graded MINT 9. The 11th item in this collection is an envelope of documents, addressed to “Roy and Ray Mantle,” from Paul Susman of Skokie, Illinois and postmarked September 19, 1995. The 28 pages in the envelope include research into Mantle’s longest home runs, most significant home runs, and other facets of his career. The envelope includes a cover letter from Mr. Susman sending condolences to the Mantle brothers on the then-recent death of the Yankees slugger. The 12th item in this collection is a copy of “LFP Presents A Tribute to Mickey Mantle” magazine published in late 1995. The color magazine is headlined “Collector’s Issue” on the front cover which features a color head & shoulder photo of Mantle in his Yankees uniform with a bat over his left shoulder. The 13th item in this collection is a Mantle signature in blue marker on an 8 x 10-inch color posed photograph of the Yankees legend at spring training. This item comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA (AG04185). The 14th item in this collection is a Mantle signature in gold pen on the front cover a hardcover collector’s edition of his 1991 book, “My Favorite Summer 1956”. The hardcover first edition from Doubleday is co-authored with Phil Pepe. This item comes with a LOA from Beckett Authentication (A50071). The 15th item in this collection is a Mickey Mantle signature in gold marker on the reverse side of a limited edition “The Best of Baseball Plate Collection” from The Hamilton Collection, celebrating “The Legendary Mickey Mantle.” This plate is inscribed “2180Q” in gold marker on the reverse. The plate depicts Mantle in multiple vignettes in his Yankees uniform, and is accompanied by its original documentation and brochures from The Hamilton Collection (issued in 1993). Also in this collection are a Mickey Mantle “7” Shangri-La Celebrity Golf Classic green and gold enameled key chain, as well as a two-sided “green repair tool” with green and gold enameled panels (one is affixed to one side, another is loose), and a green plastic bracelet with a green and gold enameled number “7” baseball charm. This collection comes with a LOA from Mary Mantle (widow of Roy Mantle).
