This lot is part of the Jackie Robinson 71st Anniversary Auction to benefit the Jackie Robinson Foundation 

Presented here is a collection of 16 books, 15 of which have been signed by legends of the Negro Leagues. The first book, After Jackie, has been signed by the Hall of Famers Frank Robinson, Bob Gibson, and Orlando Cepeda, as well as the 1971 American League MVP and Cy Young winner Vida Blue. Other The books include Dandy, Day, and the Devil, signed by Hall of Fame third baseman Ray Dandridge, and Invisible Men, signed by Leon Day. I Was Right On Time has been signed by Buck O’Neil, the first African-American coach in Major League Baseball, while Nice Guys Finish Last has been signed by the Hall of Fame outfielder Monte Irvin. Three books, The Negro Leagues Book, Black Diamond, and Buck Leonard: The Black Lou Gehrig, have been signed by the Hall of Fame first baseman Buck Leonard. The next book, 20 Years Too Soon, has been signed by Quincy Trouppe, a longtime Negro Leagues star and a member of the 1952 Cleveland Indians. The next book, Just Call Me Minnie, has been signed by Minnie Minoso. Last among baseball player-signed books, Pride Against Prejudice has been signed by the Hall of Famer Larry Doby, the first African-American player in the American League.

The remaining four books, Jackie Robinson and His Legacy and Baseball’s Great Experiment by Jules Tygiel, Blackball Stars by John B. Holway, and Brushing Back Jim Crow by Bruce Adelson, have been signed by the authors. The final book, The All-Time All-Stars of Black Baseball by James A. Riley, is unsigned. All of the signed books come with individual COAs from JSA. Please note that this lot has a 25% Buyer’s Premium. Goldin Auctions will be donating 10% of the winning bid price to The Jackie Robinson Foundation.
